This was an impulsive purchase but certainly a worthy one. It is delightfully heavy and the pestle is well balanced. I tested it out by making aioli the classic way (just garlic and oil) and it was perfectly emulsified. I have used it to grind large handfuls of spices as well as break up nuts to fold into baked goods. Doesn't hurt that it's beautiful as well!
Everything I’ve made with my Krok so far has been delicious. There’s something about the way a mortar and pestle melds flavors together that you just can’t replicate with a blender or food processor. I’ve made salsa and hot sauce and pulverized dried herbs for cooking, and each time it cleans out quickly and easily with a little water. Very satisfied with this product so far.
Luv it. Use it almost daily. The size is just right and it’s nice that the Krok is still light due to the cork. And-I love that it is handmade. Highly recommend it.
Well worth the wait. It’s very heavy and takes up a bit of room....but it is almost like a sculpture and is lovely setting on the counter.
I didn't really know what I was missing until I first used my Krok mortar and pestle. The quality and craftsmanship are truly exceptional. I would recommend this to every home cook.
the mortar and pestle was worth the wait! we love it. we’ve been using it for sauces, guacamole, and grinding up spices. the craftsmanship on it is great. highly recommend
Haven't gotten the chance to use it much, but it's beautiful. I love the cork base, it seems to actually (as it's said to) disperse some of the sound when using it. Everything feels super solid, and I love the booklet that shows who made it. Thank you!
I am so pleased with my new mortar and pestle from Krok. The individual craftsmanship is not only beautiful, but it’s design makes my food and herb prep efficient and enjoyable! I would highly recommend this for all cooks and herbalists!
I’ve used my mortar and pestle twice now. First time it took about an hour to render my Thai Green curry ingredients to paste. Decent but needs more work. To day I made a fermented red hot chili sauce using a variety of garden grown garlic, dried and fresh chilis and salt. It took about 45 minutes this time. I find a pre chop helps! As opposed to a stick blender, there is a different and I think more robust flavor form the hand grinding. It also is quite contemplative..... I think every kitchen needs one. It’s well worth the money.
Excellently crafted, beautiful piece to add to your home. Also I greatly appreciate the disclaimer that these take time to make and are done so in small batches. Very well worth the wait time.
Worth the wait for a beautifully made to order mortar and pestle. A lifetime treasure.
All I can say is that I am pumped to have this professional, nice size, beautiful, durable and badass kitchen tool in my home. Thank you!
Krok makes one of the best Mortar & Pestle in market. Craftsmanship is second to none. I would highly recommend buying from Krok since they give back to there community. There customer service was awesome and very responsive with all my questions. Worth every penny!
I'm very happy with my KROK! I think the size is perfect for any type of usage. The pestle is also longer compared to other mortar and pestles I own. This makes the pounding so much easier. The combination of granite and cork is very aesthetic. Overall highly recommended! I will most likely buy another one as a gift.
I love my KROK! It is beautifully crafted and looks great in my kitchen. The cork base is a great detail to include for both cooking and aesthetic reasons. I have enjoyed every recipe I have made with it. I highly recommend the KROK.
